Putting Your Health First

In this crazy hurried busy life we are running after, sometimes we forget that what we really need to look at is how we are truly treating this temple of our body.

And often times that is the last thing we pay attention to, isn’t it? I know for years I thought I could just plow my way through my body’s complaints thinking my mind will be the stronger.

But I learned very dramatically that when we are in separation from listening to our bodies we are at great risk for dis-ease.

So let’s not do that.OK?

We often neglect our health, sometimes without even realizing it. We’re too focused on the bigger things in life like making sure we have a paycheck at the end of every month, a healthy social life, and a belly full of good food.

By good food, we mean junk food. But as we get older, we soon realist just how important our health is to us.

We start to feel like we’re falling apart, and all of the sudden our younger more sprightly years seem to have passed us by.

So we’re here to help you start to put your health first for once. Here’s a few things that might be going wrong with you, and how you can fix them.

What Do You Eat?

This plays a big part in your health, and you won’t truly realize that until you get a little older.

As a teenager you would have ate everything and anything that you could get your hands on.

Everyone will have told you ‘a moment on the lips is forever on the hips’ and you either wouldn’t have believed them, or you wouldn’t have cared.

But as you start getting older you’ll realize that this is true, and you’ll also notice that other health issues will come with it.

A poor diet can lead to a deficiency in vitamins which can lead to symptoms such as tiredness, sore muscles, lack of concentration etc.

You need to make sure you’re filling your diet with plenty of vitamins and minerals to fuel your body as it needs to be. We need a variety of vitamins and minerals for our bodies to function at a normal level.

One diet you could follow to make sure you stay at functional and healthy level is the paleo diet. It cuts out all the rubbish for you, and helps to make sure you’re getting everything you’re supposed to.

And you can actually ask your body what it needs. And it will tell you. There are many ways to do this. One is through deep meditation.

And the other way is body-muscle testing.Have you heard of this, or ever done it?

Write down foods that you like on separate pieces of paper and fold them each. Include new foods that you know your body is probably really needing. Then mix them up.

Pick up one and do not look at it..very important ok? NO peeking! With the paper in one fist, ask you body is this is good for you.

The hand that is holding the paper will fall to your side if the food is not good for you. It is truly an amazing process.

Repeat this processes until you are through with each slip of paper. And put in piles the ones that are good for you.

Our bodies always know what we need. We just forget to listen!

Then you will have a better idea of what diet is what your body needs. Whether it be paleo, vegan vegetarian or everything diet!

Age Related Issues

You’ll soon start to notice age related issues. One of the main things that is going to go first is your hearing.

You might find yourself saying ‘what?’ a few too many times a day, and things you once used to be able to hear really clearly might be fading into the background.

It is perfectly normal, and people go through it all the time. Websites such as ImprovedSound.com can show you what to do and what the best hearing aid is to get.

Have you realized lately you are not hearing as well as you used to? Well it is time then to find out what is really going on. After all as we get older and our grandgifts start coming along , we don’t want to miss a gem of a word, do we?

Another thing that you may notice will decrease is your range of vision.

Again, it is perfectly natural and will happen as the eyes age. All you need to do is take a trip to your opticians and get yourself tested.

Wearing glasses will take a lot of the strain off for you.

As someone who has been wearing glasses since I was, get this 2 years old, I really get how much the right glasses can make your day so much easier and of course more beautiful.

We certainly do not want to miss seeing anything now do we?

Take Time For Yourself

This is one of the main things you should be doing. If you are constantly running around with very little time to yourself, it will lead to stress.

Everyone deserves time to relax, and let their mind run free with their own thoughts.

Even if it is just going to get your hair or nails done, just make sure you’re having time for yourself.


Isn’t it so true that we we come to grips both how we are aging we also realize we are in charge here. We get to make all the choices to make us healthy and vibrant.

So it is vital to make sure that vision hearing and self care are all part of our regime. And our bodies and our mind will be at ease when we know that we are in full harmony.

So decide what food you need, and check in with your body daily to see how it is doing. After all happy body means we have years of joy, laughter and love ahead of us, yes? So lets make it a priority.

    That image with Dalai Lama quote was really awesome and its so true isn’t it? I was working at night shift for nearly 7 years and due to that I faced many health issues although I was earning a reasonable income I lost my health and it taken a while to regain and restore my health.

    Take time for yourself is the thing I need to implement. Thanks Again.

  2. Great article, Ariel. I love the Dali Lama’s quote – it so true on so many levels. Yes, we need to pay attention to our health – inside and outside (physically) and also mentally.
    I love the quote ‘‘a moment on the lips is forever on the hips’ – too funny but yes, it can be true as well.

    I really like how you used the word disease, “dis-ease.” I never thought of it like that, but that is so true. Many illnesses come from stress and not taking care of our bodies. I haven’t tried the paleo diet, but I have a lot of friends that do the paleo diet a lot.

    I think if we could just read those words and meditate on his words every day, we would see some incredible changes in our health.

    I came to know the term “dis-ease” many years ago. It’s amazing how we can just say words without really looking into the deeper meaning.

    I also know that if my physical state is not healthy, my mental and spiritual state will not be in alignment as well, because they are all connected.

    I agree with what you say about being very mindful of our physical health. I never heard of the exercise with the scraps of paper with foods on them. Love it. I am going to do that one today! It sounds like fun, and will tell me what I may be missing.
