How often have we wished that our hair looks like someone else, or our body looked like the model in the magazine? The reality is that none of that is who we are. It is just what we look like. We are not our body, we are our deepest truth inside our hearts. And that is where we want our light to really shine from.

So it is mind over matter: take your body confidence to that next level. Define yourself by your own standards. That is what matters.

This post is a contributed post. That means that ariel did not write the entire post.

The human body really is a wonderful thing. It has the ability to grow, heal and adapt. The problem is that with the society we live in, it can be hard to feel appreciative of our bodies.

And this is because there are so many things out there telling us how we should look and how we should act. This can really have an impact on the body confidence you do have, and it can also make you feel like nothing you do will ever make you feel better.

Your Body is Incredible!

Your body is designed to function. Think of all the ways that your body has been good to you, for example, it gives you the ability to work out, to change your weight completely and more.

It also gives you the chance to move around with hardly any effort, so take the time to think about how wonderful your body really is. Your body is way more than what you see it as.

Perfection is Boring

Perfection is boring, and it’s also impossible. It’s time to get real, and that means knowing that the models in magazines look at themselves negatively sometimes.

Being happy doesn’t automatically come from having a great body because nothing is perfect and if it were then you would not have any ounce of personality. It’s important to embrace your imperfections and it also helps to look at yourself in the mirror every single day.

You need to be grateful for the body that you have because it is a powerful being and this can really help your brain to see you for who you really are.

If you are not happy with certain aspects of your appearance then consider changing this, but don’t rush into making decisions and don’t let your low confidence make those decisions for you either.

For example, if you want to change your smile, consider visiting websterdentalarts.com to see if they can give you the smile you’ve always wanted.

Don’t Wish You Were Someone Else

We are all unique so it helps to fall in love with yourself rather than in the idea of being someone else. Comparing your body is the best way for you to hinder your body confidence.

Remember that you don’t know what is around the corner and you also don’t know what other people are thinking either. After all, they could be wishing that they had your hair, or even your legs.

This is one of the best ways for you to really make the most out of the body you have right now.

For me, as an artist, wearing clothes is yet another form of a blank canvas. How do I feel today? What color is talking to me today? What makes me feel so flowy and lovely? And when I step into my clothes I am feeling confident and ready to see the world.

And I am always amazed at how many people stop me to remark on my clothes. So go out there, be brave, bold and beautiful. You are so very worth it.

Be Fabulous

Another way for you to boost your body confidence would be for you to wear clothes that make you feel good. Don’t be afraid to go out there and spend, and don’t worry about how you are going to look in a certain piece of clothing.

Try and do everything you can to wear clothes you love, and not clothes that you think look good on other people.

SUMMARY

Sometimes when we were young, we wanted to look like someone else, or be someone else. Until finally we realize, there is no one more amazing than ourselves. When we get to that place, our path opens to our own truth and we we see what we need to know.

Trying to emulate another takes away from our capacity to go forward on our own path. So do pick out the clothes that make you feel shiny and beautiful. And do not give time or thought to what others think about your choices. That belongs to them, it has nothing to do with you. It is just merely their opinion.

So do not let your body image define anything less than the beauty you are. It is mind over matter. Because we are so very worth it!

What do you think about this? Are you willing to let go of judgment and see your very own beauty? I so hope you are! Please do let me know your  thoughts!

We are not society’s thoughts, we are our own. And we rock!

  1. Dear Ariel,

Thanks for the post. John Maxwell quote is awesome and thought provoking. Its really amazing to know about the capacity and ability of our body “The human body really is a wonderful thing. It has the ability to grow, heal and adapt”.

    Your Friend,
    Paul

    1. I know Paul! Our bodies are just a thing of incredibly miracles, aren’t they? I like that quote also. Thanks as always for being here. IN peace and gratitude, ariel

      1. Dear Ariel,

Our bodies are just a thing of incredibly miracles, aren’t they? Yes indeed they are. When I studied some information about our body and how it works its mind blowing. Thanks again!

        Your Friend,

        1. Hello Paul, Indeed our bodies are beyond amazing. I so agree. I wish you great success and joy. Thanks for being here. IN peace and gratitude, ariel

  2. Oh great post Ariel,

This is certainly a common problem in this world. I mean we are always worrying ourselves of trying to become perfect, even though perfection is never possible in this world.

I definitely agree with you that we should be confident in ourselves, no matter how we look, instead of trying to be or look like someone else. We are all unique in our own way.

And as you said, no one is perfect. Even those models whom people sometimes want to imitate also feel negative sometimes about themselves, they also wish they could change something they don’t like about themselves.

So we need appreciate who we are and not be overly worried about our look. I really like your mentioning of rather looking at who we are inside, that is the secret person of the heart, instead of just outward appearance.

Thanks so much for sharing this post.

    Stephen.

    1. Hello Stephen, well it truly is how I think we live the best and most vibrantly when we look inside of our heart instead of our physical self. Is this something you are also working on? I am so glad you are here. In peace and gratitude, ariel

  3. Lovely reminder, Ariel. We need to first be accepting of ourselves, even the ‘not so much loved parts’ and realize that it is what makes us ‘whole’ or ‘who we are’. Our imperfections can easily become our strengths if we ‘choose’ to change our way of ‘reflection’. Thanks for sharing.

    1. You are so right Michelle. And we only decide that through judgment. When we let go of judgment we let the light shine and the smiles flow. Thanks for being here IN peace and gratitude, ariel

  4. Hi Ariel,
So much of our self-image can get wrapped up in what we look like and how we feel about that, can’t it? We can limit ourselves by not just accepting our imperfections!
I love the way you talk about dressing to feel good, no matter what someone else may think!
