How to find my dream , if I am not willing to try? Or even dare to verbalize them? Oh, haven’t we all been there?
How often have we dissed our own thoughts because we thought them untenable or not reasonably and socially acceptable? In doing so, what have we done to our own power of thought and perception of self? Is that how dis-ease begins?
The idea of actually sitting down with paper and pen and committing to writing our dreams in full view, becomes either daunting or freeing. I don’t know about you, but for me just the idea can send me foraging for another bag of potato chips!
Are we willing to be that vulnerable even to just ourselves?
Yet many times we can not even let in a trickle of our dreams. Is that because we are fearful that if we reach our dreams there will be nothing left to dream about?
Or is it that we have not yet unlocked our hearts to know that having a dream or vision about our lives is the purpose of living. And just the start of new adventures?
When we think about this life, what is our curriculum? Where is that most sought after map? Please tell me, can we order it online?
Is it the path to truly knowing, allowing ourselves to be fully seen?
I have experienced in moments that when we engage fully in our visions or dreams we are then in concert with the Universe and flow becomes the norm. Have you noticed that? Isn’t it amazing when it happens? It is as if life becomes more colorful, expansive, full of grace and joy. And the thrilling part is that it becomes so much easier.
When we choose to live our dreams, all of our dimensions meld together. We are no longer just physical or spiritual beings, we are multi-dimensional.
The gift of having dreams is what defines our truth, our hearts. I like to call it our heart symphony…the notes are only for us! Dare we play them out loud?
Joseph Campbell calls it the Hero’s Journey, finding the path to self. In The Alchemist the young boy is told to find his own legend. I love that phrase. Its so endearingly empowering isn’t it? Find your legend. (Doesn’t it make you want to just say yes?)
And sometimes it is in the metaphor of our own backyard. I think that means our heart.
In our own words, how do we speak our dreams? Or more importantly how daring are we to live our dreams?
Oh right, there is another step first, defining our dreams, putting them on paper, letting them birth.
Argh…you mean I have to say this out loud? And commit to it?
Yup! Try this exercise.
- Go get that piece of paper and your favorite pen. Sit down in a comfy chair. Start writing whatever comes to mind.
- Ask the questions: what is my true purpose, what makes me feel like i am serving the world, what makes me feel inspired and empowered?
- What would I answer if a door flew open and there stood the genie with unlimited wishes?
- Do i want to live in harmony with myself?
- How can I best serve my own truth?
- What brings me joy?
- When I think of a dream do I come up with excuses?
- Am I willing to take the first step to unlocking my heart’s dreams?
So here is my question, what are you doing about the dreams that are so wanting to come forth in your heart?
After all, as a story was told to me, every person leaves their heart to find their heart. So if you choose to leave your heart today…what are you willing to do to find it?
Share your heart symphony dream please! I would love to hear about it. The comment box is below.
Best wishes for clarity and joy!
