ARE WE LIVING ON AUTOPILOT? Or are we totally aware of every moment in our lives?
You know the feeling when you are driving and all of a sudden you look up and go where am I? How did I get here? When did I stop noticing the road?
I remember doing that one day while following a huge truck. Suddenly I was on an exit ramp without having a clue how I got there. And of course, no where to turn around. Really?
Those are the moments when we go, oh no, I am living on auto pilot. I am not paying attention to my life.
I think it’s an eye-opening moment. I would even refer to it as a gift from the universe.
And so it starts. What am I really choosing to do with this moment?
This is where we find our intention. Intentional choice. That truly sounds powerful. I have the choice always to choose what my intention is at any moment.
But do I exercise my own power? And is that intention in my best interests?
Every choice I make leads me to another choice that then leads to another choice and then without realizing it I have created my path of intentionality. No matter the choice, positive or negative.
Isn’t it incredible to know that with each intention we choose, are we then willing to accept the result of it? When I choose not to be present I just might miss a new path opening. Or a smile shared. End up on a road that I was not supposed to go down.
Worse yet, being on autopilot without choosing through my heart, I might indeed create a result that was hurtful.
How do we navigate the way to intentional choices that reflect our heart- centric living?
5 WAYS TO CHECK INTO OUR INTENTIONAL CHOICES
Set our intention
Every choice we make is an act of creation
Checking in with our selves
Observe our behavior without judgment
SETTING OUR INTENTION TO NOT LIVE ON AUTOPILOT
Setting our intention is the path. It helps to set in motion the concept. I love the second choice that every choice we make is an act of creation. It feels so invigorating and uplifting.
And somewhat poetic, I think. Any choice I make is a true act of creation. I can create whatever my intention is.
Then there is the awareness of that choice. That is the step to being present. In that gift of the present we can see without boundaries. Helping us then to check in with our higher selves to determine what our intent it. Which then leads to observing our behavior.
I think that works best when we are seeing without judgment. It allows us to just remark and take note.
So here is the question of the day. What choice are you making to create your life in intentional choice INSTEAD OF AUTOPILOT?
