It does not require a large effort to have a positive impact on your wellbeing. With that being said, read on to discover 10 things you can do to boost your health today.

 

  • Start going to bed and waking up at the same time – Getting into a sleep routine is imperative for ensuring you have a restful night’s slumber. There are many negative side effects that could arise if you do not get enough sleep, for example, you will be at a greater risk of developing a chronic condition like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease.
  • Give up alcohol for a month – Challenge yourself to at least a month of sober living. By simply giving up alcohol for 28 days, you will experience many different benefits, including having more energy and losing weight.
  • Learn how to read food labels – The vast majority of people today do not follow healthy and balanced diets because they do not know how to read food labels. Just because something says ‘low fat’ does not mean that it is the better option.
  • Exercise daily – Exercise daily but not excessively. A mere 20 minutes a day can make a big difference.
  • Download a health app – Nowadays, there are so many different health apps available on mobile phones that can help you to get a better understanding of your fitness levels and overall wellbeing.
  • Start making smoothies – Smoothies are great because you can pack so many nutrients and vitamins into one drink.
  • Make sure you drink more water – Making an effort to drink more water is a necessity. This is something you can combine with number five, i.e. using health apps. There are apps that remind you to drink more water and help you to track how many glasses you have per day. You should also carry a water bottle around with you at all times to encourage yourself to drink more.
  • Eat off a smaller plate – Often, it’s not what we eat that is the problem, it is how much we eat. Eating off a smaller plate is one of the easiest ways to get a handle on portion control.
  • Pack healthy snacks – This will stop you from heading to the vending machine when you feel hungry at work.
